Having a first look with your partner will not be something that you will regret. First looks have always been something I have a strong opinion on just because I love them so much. There are a ton of benefits that come with having a first look and I’d love to share those benefits with you all! YOU’LL HAVE A PRIVATE MOMENT TOGETHER
A first look is private and intimate, giving you the opportunity to experience the moment together without the pressure of everybody watching you. Without anyone present to anticipate your reactions, genuine emotions are able to shine through. It’s so important to have a moment together away from all the chaos of the day and first looks are a great way to do just that.
YOU’LL GET INTIMATE PHOTOS
First looks make for truly emotional photos and, who doesn’t want some sweet intimate photos together?! As a wedding photographer, a lot of the time I’ll have couples opt out of doing a first look because everyone expects the groom to cry when they see their bride at the other end of the aisle. 8/10 times they fight hard as hell to keep those tears back because THEY KNOW EVERYONE IS LOOKING AT THEM. Having a private first look allows both of you to let your guard down.
ALLOWS YOUR FAMILY/FRIENDS TO MINGLE
Having a first look will allow your friends and family to enjoy the cocktail hour with your guests! They’ve been by your side every step of the way. Providing them with a guest-like experience will be a great way to show your appreciation while you two take some alone time together and for more portraits! This is something we don’t always necessarily think about but it’s great to do for your friends and family.
