Destination Weddings and Elopements: 5 Bucket List Locations

September 28, 2022

When it comes to destination weddings, as a photographer, I’m lucky enough to say that I’ve been able to photograph quite a few elopements and weddings at epic locations. That being said, there are still quite a few places that are still on my bucket list.

Every single one of these destinations is incredible and a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Which is why I wanted to share them with you! If you’re on the hunt for an awesome destination wedding or elopement location then be sure to read more about these places. If you do decide to go and want me to capture your big day, you’ll get a discount just for choosing one of these amazing places!

Iceland

First, on my bucket list, I have Iceland. One of the most obvious reasons you should elope in Iceland is because of the breathtaking scenery. I mean seriously, this is one of the coolest places in the world for scenery! Imagine how unique your photos could look! If you elope or have a wedding in Iceland then you’ll be able to experience the culture and see waterfalls, glaciers, volcanos, and more.

Isle of Skye

The Isle of Skye is located in Scotland. It is known for its rugged landscapes, picturesque fishing villages, and medieval castles. It’s one of the most magical destinations in the world giving you a dream-like wedding day. The best time to visit is between May and August! If you get married here just be ready to be in awe!

Turks & Caicos

If you love the ocean then you NEED to elope or get married at Turks & Caicos. It is located in the Caribbean Region but is considered a British Airways territory. It’s known for its bright, aqua-blue water, marine life, snorkeling, and scuba diving. If you’ve always dreamt of a beach wedding then this might just be the place for you!

Jamaica

Jamaica is known to be one of the MOST romantic places in the world. The scenery is beautiful and is the perfect getaway destination for any wedding or elopement. You can get married in Jamaica as fast as after 24 hours and it’s way less expensive than having a wedding in the United States!

Bora Bora

For those who want an exotic and extremely cool wedding location in a warmer climate then you’ll love Bora Bora! This is one of my favorite locations and it’s absolutely breathtaking. There are several resorts here for weddings and elopements so you’ll be sure to find one you love!

KIND WORDS

“My husband and I randomly found Kim on Instagram and we both instantly fell in love with her work, it was exactly the aesthetic we were wanting for our engagement/wedding photos. We are so happy we found her! She did an AMAZING job — neither my husband nor I am big picture takers but she made it a lot of fun! She is super cool and sweet — it was great having her there for our big day and we felt very confident that she’d pull everything off and capture everything we wanted. We LOVE our photos!!! Plus it is super cool that she is an elopement photographer as well. We plan on hiring Kim for future professional photos!”
