Ask to see FULL wedding galleries when you inquire. This is so important because social media only shows everyone’s best work. You’ll want to see what aspects of the day they capture and what their wedding gallery looks like as a whole.
GET TO KNOW YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER
Hop on a call or zoom with your photographer before you sign any contracts to make sure you click. Nothing feels more awkward when you don’t vibe with someone right?! We don’t need that kind of tension on your wedding day! This is so good to do because you’ll be able to talk to your photographer and even pick each other’s brains when talking about your wedding.
ASK ABOUT WHAT TO EXPECT
Ask about what you can expect prior to the wedding day. Do they offer any help? What does their help include? Do they just say thanks for your payment and see you on the wedding day? Or do they help with timeline, location scouting, engagement prep, or inspo?
READ THE REVIEWS
Google your vendors and make sure their reviews sound promising and are from real people. Be on the lookout for false reviews that sound fake and like a robot typed them out! Look for great reviews that explain what others have experienced with the photographer.

Do you get an engagement session if you book with them? I believe this is a crucial thing to have included in your wedding package. Why? It not only lets you meet face-to-face with the person who is going to be documenting your most special day, but it also allows you to learn and understand how your photographer works and helps you through the actions and poses at your engagement session! Most of all, go with a photographer who you truly love, are excited to work with, and feel confident in their work!
