Babes, you are not ready for this ‘how we met’ story! I was first introduced to Mavin and Tyler during another one of my couple’s destination weddings in Charleston, South Carolina. These two were attending the wedding as guests and reached out to book an engagement session with me while we were all still there together! I mean, how insane is that?!
Mavin and Tyler have been in love since high school, so to say I was excited to capture this next chapter of their love story would be an understatement! During the planning process, we chatted about the couple’s vision for their Charleston engagement session and landed on a location in Folly Beach, South Carolina. I also provided the couple with tips on what to wear for their engagement session (pro tip – simple neutrals are key to matching the scenery).
Folly Beach: the Best Beach Location for Your Charleston Engagement Photos
Located near Charleston, Folly Beach is not your average beach town! Also lovingly referred to as the “Edge of the World”, Folly Beach has a funky, eclectic vibe that you really have to experience for yourself! Like all good beach towns, this area is packed with shops, restaurants, and incredible places to stay and explore. Oh, and did I mention that Folly Beach is not too far from Charleston? This means you can experience both the beach and cute downtown vibes during your Charleston engagement photos.
Of course, you can’t visit Folly Beach without going to the beach (duh!) and the pier here does not disappoint! For Mavin and Tyler’s engagement photos, we ventured down to the water and spent the sunset hours running around barefoot in the sand. Truly, it was the perfect way to explore this beautiful beach town and celebrate the happy couple!
